7 scariest horror movies

Few weeks ago I bumped into my old friend from high school and he said that he is going to cinema to watch Rings. We had some time to spare so we started talking about horror movies. Even tho he said that he loves scariest horror movies, I realized that he have never watched a decent horror movie. I recommended him few titles that he absolutely has to watch.

After one week he wrote me a message on FB in which he said that he watched 3 of the horror movies that I recommended to him and absolutely loved them.

He motivated me to write my list of TOP 7 HORROR MOVIES.
Why wouldn’t others feel the horrors that they have to offer? 😀

7. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Rosemary’s Baby

Let’s start with Roman Polanski’s movie. Rosemary’s Baby is a classic, where Mia Farrow plays a pregnant woman, which is afraid that her husband made a deal with the neighbors to sacrifice her child to Satan in exchange for money and power.
Masterpiece that deserves a spot on my top 7 horror movies list.

6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Tobe Hooper’s horror movie inspired the whole generation of imitators, but few can be compared to intensity of the real Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
If you didn’t watch the original movie I highly recommend you do. ASAP.
Movie about horrific massacre of 33 people conjures horrors made by twisted mind with a chainsaw and the mask made of people’s skin.

5. Psycho (1960)

4. The Exorcist (1973)

This is american supernatural horror movie directed by William Friedkin. I watched it as a kid and I remember that I didn’t sleep without a light anymore. Ever. at that time I wished that I wouldn’t have watched it, but now I am glad that I did!

Its deeply exciting and a must watch horror movie!

3. The Shining (1980)

The Shining (1980)

I really like Stanley Kubrick. He was a genius, and every detail had to be in its place to satisfy him. Movie is based on Stephan King’s novel from  1977. Jack Nicholson got the main role.

2. The Thing (1982)

The Thing (1982)

“The Thing” is fantastic. One of the scariest horror movies of all time. It is pure example of “body” horror movie.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but I would recommend that you watch it with a paper bag at your site. I would also recommend you to watch sequels (Prince of Darkness, In the Mouth of Madness).

1. Re-Animator

This is not just one of the best horror movies. It’s one of the best movies of all time.

In Re-Animator we have a doctor, played by magnificent Jeffrey Combs that experiments with humans and brings them back to life.
